International Women's Day, is a day to express gratitude and admiration for the talented women who put so much love and care into producing your pieces. Each return visit I have to India fosters deeper connections, greater understanding and appreciation, and stronger relationships. It is always such a privilege to visit, to witness their hands creating, their voices telling stories, their minds persevering and their hearts infusing each piece with love. By its very nature, crocheted and hand knitted garments are slowly produced, and therefore, it is not just about slow fashion, what is even more important to me, is the meaningful connection I have made with these women, and the positive impact that you purchasing Gooseberry Fool is having in their lives, and therefore their local communities.
These women are themselves, mothers, wives, daughters, sisters, aunts, grandparents and friends; they support one another, sharing their struggles and their joys.
